Kobrin Synagogue
There are no laws in Belarus which deal with the restitution of either immovable communal or private property expropriated during the Holocaust era. While a few synagogue buildings had previously been transferred by the government to the Jewish community, most properties remain in a state of disrepair. Notably, the Volozhin Yeshiva—once transferred to the Jewish community—was returned to the government in 2021 because significant restoration was needed. Since then, the government has restored the building and opened it as a museum at the end of 2024.
